Swachh Toilets for Swachh Country

We love our dear ones, don’t we?

India boasts to be one of the highly populated countries in the world, but there are around 2.5 billion people who lack access to toilets, latrines and other basic sanitation facilities.  This is because of the construction cost or there is no proper sewage facility. Due to this, not only the diseases spread but the fact is we do not have medicines to treat most of the diseases.

We love our dear ones, don’t we? Then why do we expose human waste and create contamination.  Medical findings reveal that a gram of human fecal substance could create 10 million viruses and bacteria and 100 worm eggs.  This could also cause 50 communicable diseases.  The germ emitted out of Human waste also has the potential to deplete the essential nutrients in children.  Swachh Toilet, ensures waste discharge from the Toilet and plays a good role in preventing the water borne communicable diseases

Sangam Prefab Concrete products Pvt. Ltd. plays a major role in building a stronger and healthier India with their innovative product Swachh Toilet.  This toilet is environment friendly and decomposes the waste in a safer way.  This toilet model was designed by a team of experienced Indian professionals, who love their country from the core of their heart, aiming to make their country a Clean or Swachh country.

Come forward and join us in stopping Open defecation and making this world a better place to live!

PORTABLE TOILET in THE BHUTANESE

Open defecation is an age old problem! We are still living with it, is our problem! It is on us how we deal with the situation and how we bring the change!

To initiate that change, the team of SWACHH TOILET decided to drive all the way to our loving neighbour BHUTAN and let people know of how we can bring sanitation improvements to the world.

6 months of online talks and we finally met this humble person Mr.Passu Tshering, Teacher at the Royal Academy Paro. He is not only a teacher but an amazing social media person. And you know what is more amazing about him? He runs an organisation bhutantoilet.org with a group of passionate volunteers who are serving their nation. No toilet in Bhutan is hidden from this crazy team. Working hard and trying their best, we decided to associate with them and introduced Sangam Swachh Toilets in Bhutan.

Our meet with Mr.Passu is beautifully written by the blogger himself, also featured in THE BHUTANESE paper on July 6th, 2015.

Is the Land of Paradise turning into a real ordeal?

Sanitation issues in North East India!

The Land of seven Sisters or the so called the ‘Land of paradise’ is turning into a nightmare because of open defecation.  The states, that are grouped under the North East India are - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. Two Third of the area is covered with hilly terrain and these hills are also owned or controlled by the tribes or the chief of the villages.

The entire area lacks the basic sanitation facility.  To brush off this stumbling block, the government has volunteered itself to provide households with better toilet facilities under the Swachh Bharat Abhyan movement, with the funding and ideas of various organizations linked to the public health.
Sangam Prefab Concrete products Pvt. Ltd., is one such organization which has extended its hands in support of the Swachh Bharat Abhyan by launching SwachhToilet, with the ‘bio decomposition’ concept, where the waste is decomposed properly without causing any blemish to the environment.

The primary reason that prevails behind the Lack of Toilets in North East India are – There are a lot of tribes who follow the caste system.  Each tribe practices a distinct culture and tradition. In certain areas, they even consider open defecation as healthy and social.  In divergence, latrines are seen as impure if it is located in the home or nearby. The men there refer to the toilets as use for only women and elderly.  Moreover, the expenditures involved in the construction of a toilet are pretty high.  A person, who is a daily bread winner of the family, will think of feeding the family rather than constructing a toilet

Women and girls are the ones who are much affected by improper Sanitation. Also, there are many teen girls who quit schools, because of the lack of sanitation facilities. Lack of sanitation additionally leads to malnutrition and other health problems among the public in India.

Sangam Prefab Concrete products Pvt. Ltd has propelled Swachh Toilets to provide solutions and uphold the beauty of the land of paradise.  Swachh Toilet aims at reducing the harassments against women by taking care of their privacy and finally they offer a strong hand in the building up of a strong and healthy nation with the launch of toilets.  Joining hands with the Swachh Bharat Abhyan movement, the team of Swachh Toilet is taking efforts to eradicate the fallacies out of the people’s mind with the help of campaigns.  Also, these toilets could prove to be a total solution to this dearth, since toilets are sold at a very economical rate, aiming at Clean and Powerful India.

Welcome Swachh Toilets

Wherever you are, at office, school, on an expedition, at a market place or simply at home, you need basic comfort and convenience. A proper toilet tops the list of basic conveniences. In spite of this necessity, sadly a major population of our country is devoid of access to this basic amenity that serves as a solution to curb various air borne diseases as well as safety for children and especially women.

Nevertheless, dedicated and target driven, both government and companies supporting the fantastic Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are implementing schemes and working incessantly to make “Clean India” dream come true. Many corporate house and toilet fixtures manufacturing companies have put their hands forward for the same.

One such company is Sangam Prefab Concrete Products Pvt. Ltd., West Bengal, with its offices at Kolkata (South Bengal) and Siliguri (North Bengal). The company is surrounded by neighbouring states of Sikkim and Bihar and by neighbouring countries: Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh.

The company whole heartedly dedicates its service to build a nation that isn’t deprived of basic conveniences and is completely safe. For this, it has launched a new range of toilets under their brand SWACHH TOILET: portable and bio toilet. The effort of this company is appreciable and could bring the desired change in society. Umpteen villages, communities and Municipal Corporation have accepted the services of Sangam Prefab Concrete Products Pvt. Ltd. as it has taken an initiative to provide low cost and clean toilets.

Such companies are keeping no stone unturned in making Swachh Bharat-Swasth Bharat. Let us acknowledge this effort and realize the need of the hour to make our children and women safe from opportunity-seeker predators as well as from harmful diseases like diarrhoea, dysentery, cholera and others that comes complementary with open defecation.

Swachh Bharat: A Dream that has the potential to be a Reality

We live in a country where number of people who have a cell phone is higher than the number who has access to a toilet. Shocking right?

The lack of toilets paired with bad sanitation is the world’s biggest problem and sadly India leads the way in open defecation. More unfortunate are our country’s little girls and women, because it is not just the wilderness and diseases that they have to safeguard themselves from but from men, who disregard them at the earliest chance.

Luckily 2014-15 have witnessed a change in the tide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi launching the “Clean India Mission” campaign (“Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”) which directed the much needed attention to our surroundings and the ‘big’ problem of ‘toilets’.

  • Construction of toilets under the project has gone up to 7.1 lakh individual household toilets in January. This number is way short of ‘1.2 crore toilets’ target, still it is promising. However government needs to gain speed to accomplish 100%, no open defecation across country.
  • Contributing to the mission is a company from West Bengal, Sangam Prefab Concrete Products Pvt. Ltd. They have introduced low cost portable and bio toilets under their brand “SWACHH TOILET” to contribute to the urgency of the situation. They believe that “Toilet” is a must for a healthy life and they are doing their share to protect the dignity of our country.

CLEAN TOILET

People from all spheres of life have joined the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign but it is still a long path down the aisle. A food for thought - If every individual in a country of 1.25 billion just do their ‘bit’, we might not be far behind in accomplishing a cleaner, healthier and a better India to live in. Yes, we can make a difference but only if we believe that we can.

Are you doing your bit?

WHY TOILET?

On a super cool trip with your friends, with utmost levels of excitement, what is one basic facility you are looking at? A blanket? Electricity? I certainly would say, TOILET! What do you think so?

Gone are the days when people wanted heat, they made fire! Agree!
When people wanted to use a toilet, they had to dig a hole or find some forest space. Agree!

Gone are the very old days where thousands and lakhs of people didn't have the facility! REALLY? The situation is still the same my dear friends! It is sadly still the same!

The situation doesn't exist only in India. One-third of people on this planet do not have access to Toilets. They still dig holes, still use plastic bags, find a tree or the river close by.

What is actually happening?
More than half of Indian household’s defecate in the open. Human waste goes into the water. People get sick, also die! This is also one main reason of child malnutrition. Moreover diseases spread – diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery and so on.  This deadly wave kills more than two million children every year. A shocking figure!

Though 2014-15 bought a welcome change in the Indian sanitation aspects, achieving better results is not an easy task in the Indian scenario. People are being offered an improved life, for which they have to change the way they live. Awareness and education is primary.

Toilet hence is an alarming need of the hour. Toilets first, temples later!

Toilet is a must! For children to live longer!
Toilet is a must! For humans to live healthier!
Toilet is a must! To prevent girls from being raped!
Toilet is a must! To protect the dignity of India!

For a better and healthy life, TOILET is a MUST!
